Meet Kat
Hi, I’m Katarina!!
Every adventure has a beginning, and mine started at 17 with my very first international trip to Germany. I never imagined that one journey would inspire a lifelong love of travel, but from that moment on, I knew I wanted to keep exploring and seeing the world through my own eyes.
Welcome to Outwith Freckles—
I'm so glad you're here!
I'm a solo traveler, adventurer, and the creator behind Outwith Freckles. My dream is simple: to explore the world, embrace new experiences, and inspire others to step outside their comfort zone.
My journey officially began in 2024 when I bought my first vehicle and overhead truck camper. Since then, I've been building a life centered around freedom, discovery, and unforgettable adventures. Every road leads to a new story, and every destination offers something worth experiencing.
Whether I'm exploring scenic backroads, discovering hidden gems, or taking on a new outdoor adventure, I believe the best memories are made by saying yes to the unknown.
Here on Outwith Freckles, you'll find travel guides, camper life tips, destination inspiration, and honest stories from life on the road. I hope my journey encourages you to chase your own adventures—whether they're across the country or around the world.
You can also come along for the ride by watching my travel adventures on the Outwith Freckles YouTube channel, where I share the places I visit, the challenges I face, and the incredible moments that make this lifestyle so rewarding.
Thanks for being here. Adventure is better when it's shared, and I'm excited to have you along for the journey!
Meet Katarina
I was born deaf into a hearing family and wear cochlear implants. That experience taught me to approach challenges creatively and to notice details others may overlook. It shapes how I travel, solve problems, and share the world through my perspective.
With a background in film and fine arts, I use photography, video, and storytelling to document solo travel, life with BAT, and the realities of building a life on the road.
I’ve lived a nomadic life—from Arizona to California, Texas, and Arkansas. Along the way, my dream evolved from becoming an art director to creating a life centered on travel, visual storytelling, and adventure.
The Beginning
While studying to become an art director, I realized my goals had changed. A traditional 9-to-5 life no longer felt right, and I knew I wanted a new direction.
A Change in Direction
I stepped back, wrote down the life I truly wanted, and created a plan to move forward—one brave decision at a time.
That decision gave me the courage to turn my plan into action.
A New Chapter
I worked hard to finance my Toyota Tundra and overhead camper, turning the idea of life on the road into something real.
Building BAT
I’m transforming BAT—my Toyota Tundra truck camper—by learning new skills, solving problems, and building much of it myself.
